1st Transnational Meeting at 1st EPAL of Aridea, N. Papaioannou with Erasmus+ European Programme


Under the Erasmus + K201 project titled: "To Bee or Not To Bee in Nature" - "2B or not 2BeeN" and program code:
2019-1-FR01-KA201-062046, in which the 1st EPAL Arideas, N. Papaioannou participates for the school years 2019-20 and 2020-21,
in cooperation with schools from France - Lycée Hôtelier La Renaissance, Bulgaria - Science and maths secondary school, Italy - IPSSEC "Olivetti" andTurkey - Aksu Anadolu Lisesi Müdürlüğü / Aksu Fen Lisesi Müdürlüğü / Mustafa Kemal ÖZel Eğitim Mesleki Eğitim Merkezi,  the 1st Transnational Meeting was held from 11 November to
15 November 2019 in the city of Aridea. The 1st EPAL Aridea is a Vocational Secondary School with students aged 15-18 years and
offers specialties in the fields of Agriculture, Electrical Engineering and Electronics, Economics and Management, Engineering, Informatics,
as well as Health, Welfare and Wellness.

13 teachers from the above countries, participated in the meeting. From the 1st EPAL of  Aridea the teachers of the school's
pedagogical team and the Principal were involved.

On the first day of the programme, Monday, November 11, delegations from the above countries arrived, welcomed by EPAL teachers
and students and they were transferred to a hotel in the city.

The activities began on Tuesday, November 12th, with the official reception of delegations from pupils and teachers of the 1st EPAL
of Aridea, at the school premises. At the event, the respective schools and districts as well as the educational systems of each country
were presented by their representatives. The exchange of gifts between the schools followed. Afterwards, the participants were transported
to the city of Edessa where they toured the Waterfall Park area, the area of ​​the old town of Edessa Varosi and visited the
Open Water Museum. Lunch and afternoon followed by a visit to a well-known candles workshop where they were informed and presented
with bee wax products.Then they went to Aridea and had dinner at a local restaurant.

On Tuesday, November 13th, starting from the 1st EPAL of Aridaia, the delegations, participating teachers and students of the school went
on a daily school trip to Thessaloniki. Participants toured Byzantine and Roman monuments in the city center and enjoyed the coastal route
from the port to the White Tower.

On Thursday, November 14th, they were escorted to a walk in the Aridea open air market so partners could see and taste local fruits,
vegetables and herbs in the area. Then, the partner teachers arrived at school. The teachers were then led to a computer lab for their
participation in programme activities. Finally, the teams worked together on the supporting documents of the transnational meeting.
Certificates of attendance were issued by the Principal of the school to the participating teachers. At the end of the activities,
the delegations visited the Loutraki-Pozar area, where they enjoyed a bath at the hot springs and the natural beauty of the landscape.
Dinner followed in Aridea. Later in the evening, the the Turkish school delegation left for their country.

On Friday, November 15th, the rest of the teachers' delegations departed for their home countries and their schools.

The 1st Transnational Meeting was a unique opportunity for all Greek participants, educators and students to present
Greek education, culture, history and landmarks in Aridea region.
